Toan Ngoc Nguyen

Toan Ngoc Nguyen passed away at University Hospital, on Thursday, September 26th, 2024, at the age of 79.

Beloved husband of Phat Pham for 55 years. Loving father of Chinh Nguyen, Chung Nguyen and Chuong Nguyen. Cherished father-in-law of Trang Nguyen and Hung Nguyen. Adored grandfather of Alex, Brandon, Calista, Daniella, Jessica, Haylie, Kaydence, Thi, Nhavy, Ngoc and Luc.

Predeceased by his father, Nguyen Van Toan, his mother, Dang Thi Thuc, and his sister, Qua Chi. Survived by his siblings Em Gai Thanh, Qua Em, Em Hai and Em Ut Phung.

Toan grew up in Da Nang, Vietnam and later immigrated to Canada, with his oldest son Chinh, where he worked hard to bring the rest of his family over. He was a fisherman, a farmer, and a construction worker. But we’d like to say his favourite and most important job was taking care of his family and all his grandchildren. Following his accident, he stayed home most days or went out for his daily dose of Tim Hortons.

Toan loved many things; drinking coffee and orange Crush, going to the casino and smoking, but most importantly, he loved us, his family. He always came home with food for those around him, including his favourite, Pizza Hut. He was always happy; smiling every day at every moment, singing on our drives and dancing in our living room. Even when he was sick, he would take care of us, keeping a smile on his face and telling us he was okay because he did not want us to worry. Now to honor him, let us do the same and keep his happiness alive through our smiles.

Visitation will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a special memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4th, 2024.

His interment will take place on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, where we will join at Northview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, ON at 9:30 am and say our final goodbyes at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 806 Victoria Street, London, ON at 11:15.
