Thomas (Tom) Leo Malone

Peacefully with family by his side, Tom was taken by the Angels to the Gates of Heaven from the St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, on Saturday, September 21^st, 2024, at the age of 79.

Beloved husband of Susan Malone (Beach) for 56 years. Loving Father of Tina Malone Wright (Andrew Wright) and Peter Malone of Kitchener. Adored Grandfather of Aidan Wright and Meghan Wright.

Predeceased by his Mom Dorothy Malone (Kearney) in 1962, his Dad John Jack Malone in 1996 and his older brother Peter John Malone in 1965. Survived by his younger brother Kevin Malone (Pat) of London and younger sister Molly Malone of Edmonton, Alberta, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was born and grew up in London and attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School, Catholic Central Secondary School and Clarke Road Secondary School.  He went on to become a Chartered Accountant and worked at several businesses, including Frederick Transport and Gates Canada. After Tom retired from Gates Canada he continued to maintain his relationships with co-workers and special childhood friends and very much looked forward and enjoyed catching up during weekly lunches.

In his spare time, Tom loved to travel, attend plays and Fall fairs. He was a ‘French Fry’ connoisseur and in true Irish character he loved his potatoes. Many of his friends and neighbours would see Tom on his daily walks and he particularly enjoyed his walks with Susan and their Grand Dog Bailey.

Tom was super proud of his Grandchildren Aidan and Meghan. He loved supporting them in their education and fulfilling their dreams. Being a Chartered Accountant he loved numbers and did not pass up an opportunity to help Aidan and Meghan with their math homework, in person, on the telephone or by FaceTime. He spent many hours in ice arenas, all over Ontario, Canada and the United States, as he loved watching Aidan competing in Pairs Figure Skating and Meghan playing the position of Goalie in Ice Hockey.

Cremation has taken place. A Mass and Celebration of Life will be conducted at St. Michael’s Parish, 511 Cheapside Street, London, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation one (1) hour prior to the mass time. Refreshments to follow in the church hall following the mass. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
