With family by her side after a lengthy illness, on October 7, 2024 at University Hospital, London, Shirley Tye passed away at the age of 88. Predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth Tye (2005). Loving mother to Maryanne (Ken) Walker, Karen (Don) MacDonald, Jill (John) Crookes and Chris (Patti) Tye. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Kristina, Darryl, Adam, Jason, Kendra, Mackenzie and Samuel and by her great-grandchildren Autumn, Huxley, Hayden, Riley and Kaia. Dear sister to Don (Judy) Ramsey and Gary (Barb) Ramsey and sister-in-law, Linda Tye. Predeceased by her parents Muretta (2016) and Lloyd Ramsey (1993), and her father and mother-in-law, Kenneth Tye Sr. and Nellie Tye. Fondly remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Shirley worked at Eaton’s in London for close to 30 years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 1300, where she was the Senior Regent of the Women’s Chapter. Shirley also enjoyed her time participating in the many activities of the Hamilton Road Senior Centre.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Dorchester Union Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Clinical Neurological Sciences – Dementia Research would be greatly appreciated by the family.
