Marlene Plank

Marlene passed away peacefully in Comox, British Columbia, on Saturday July 2nd 2022 in her 89th year. She was predeceased by her husband George, parents Len & Vi Bear, daughter Vicki and brothers Don and Max Bear. Saddened by her passing are her children, Christine Wood (Michael) of Courtenay, BC, George (Valerie) Plank of Delaware, ON, and Terri Hamblin (Marty) of St. Thomas, ON.  Marlene had 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dennis Bear (Brigitte), and sisters-in-law Irene Tuffin and Audrey and Loretta Bear.  Marlene was a dedicated member to the Comox Legion, serving as Passed President of the Ladies Auxillary.  She and George were known for their beautiful lawns and gardens.  Many events benefited from the sounds of Marlene’s lovely singing voice.  She will be dearly missed.

Marlene’s family welcomes all to the Delaware Legion, Branch 598, 11577 Longwoods Road, Delaware, Ontario on Sunday, August 7th from 2-4pm for a Celebration of Life.  Light lunch will be provided. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Marlene are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
