Klazina “Ina” Brooks (née Wardenaar), RT – ART
November 1, 1950 - November 15, 2023
Ina passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 15th with her family by her side, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of 51 years to Paul. Loving mother to Edward and Andrew (Katie), and adoring Oma to Ryan and Cameron. Dear sister to Siske (Brian) Pratt and sister-in-law to Teresa (Michael) Bloch. Ina will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Annie and Peiter Wardenaar.
Ina will fondly be remembered as a strong woman, wife, and mother who supported her family with great tenderness and unconditional love. She was a dedicated Medical Technologist who studied her trade in London, before moving to Southampton in 1971 to start her career at Saugeen Memorial Hospital. It was at this time she met Paul, and they married soon after. In 1974 they moved to London where Ina worked for 38 years at University Hospital and LHSC. Ina continued her educational studies and was a licenced Advanced Medical Technologist (ART) specializing in Toxicology research.
Beyond her love for and time spent with family, Ina enjoyed working on building aircraft with her husband, painting and gardening.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to friend and Doctor Henry Chapeskie, the staff at LHSC and the nurses and doctors at St. Elizabeth.
A celebration of Ina’s life will be held at 2450 Blair Blvd – Bay 4 (London International Airport – north of the terminal) on Saturday, November 25th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
