Joseph Frederick LeForte

August 14, 1941 - October 10, 2024

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with heart disease, Joseph Frederick LeForte left this world.  Joe was born August 14, 1941 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and moved to London in 1954.  He is survived by his daughter Charlene Larsen (née LeForte), grandchildren Eric and Kristin, step-daughters Nicole Murray and Lisa Pennie, his sisters Carol Barnard and Susan Clowry, his uncle Al O’Donnell (Marlene) and aunt Loretta Smith, along with many nieces and nephews and his long-time friend, Tony Ambrosia.  Joe was predeceased by his mom and dad (Dorothy and Eddie LeForte) and brother Jim.

Joe was a long-time employee at Kellogg’s until his retirement due to health reasons.  He loved sports and in his younger years played hockey and baseball.  In his later years, darts, bowling and golf were the sports of choice.  His real passion was playing cards with Tony or with family.  He was always smartly dressed, taking pride in his appearance.

Joe also enjoyed a good Western movie and could be found staying up all night listening to country music.  For several years, Joe was involved with the Canadian Legion Branch 317.  He loved to dance, a good rye and ginger, and a good joke or laugh.  Joe will always be lovingly remembered by those who knew him well.  There will be no celebration of life as per his wishes.   Rest in Peace

Often had a rye and ginger or cold brew with Joe Leforte. Sad to see this.
