Surrounded by her loving family, Jackie Mackintosh (née Hatherell) passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024 in London. Predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Rob Mackintosh (2020). She will be dearly missed by her children, Sean Mackintosh (Maria) and Carrie Mailloux (Dean); and her grandchildren Gabriella, Jackson, Andrew, Luke, Hannah and Morgan who affectionally called her Nana.
Jackie will continue to live on through her grandchildren just as Rob has. Together, Nana and Papa were always present in the lives of their grandchildren with loving care and guidance, whether it was daycare in their early years or taking them to sports games and tournaments or regular welcomed visits.
Jackie worked in the 70’s and 80’s at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Siskind Cromarty law firm, and McConkey Insurance in London. She also worked alongside Rob managing the office administration in his graphic design business for more than 3 decades. Jackie was also dedicated and passionate about her Leafs, Jays and Knights.
Jackie and Rob spent most of their time together, whether it was working in the home office, traveling, camping in Bayfield or time with their grandchildren. Rob also played shows in many bands in London in the 60’s and right up until 2020 and Jackie loved this time with Rob. In their last few years together, they were still like teenagers after the show at a club downtown, packing up the gear after 2 a.m. and grabbing a burger on the way home.
Jackie will also be missed by many, including her Hatherell family siblings, Ray (Mary Anne), Sharon (Paul), Wayne (Diane), Jeff, Brian (Karen) and Terry (Karen); Rob’s siblings Gord (Alyce), Joan, Pam and Donnie and their loving cousins from the Kitchener area; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by her parents George and Josephine Hatherell.
Visitation for Jackie, with a celebration of life for both Rob and Jackie, will be held at Northview Funeral Chapel, 1490 Highbury Avenue North on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and a service will be conducted on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place following the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in London.

To Sean, Carrie and your families. We are so saddened to hear of Jackie’s passing. Neighbours for 43 years, we always enjoyed our chats and seeing Rob and Jackie together. They were so close and now they are together again.
Sharon, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your sister. May your memories of time spent together provide you with some comfort.
