Hazel Nicholson
March 6, 2024
It is with much sadness that the family of Hazel Nicholson (née Warren) announce her peaceful passing, surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 6th at the age of 90. Devoted and loving mother to Deborah Graham, and adoring grandmother to Jeffrey Graham (Kira) and Brianna Chesney (Nolan). Predeceased by loving husband Wilfred Nicholson. Dear sister to Sam Warren (Marion) and predeceased by siblings Harold Jr. Warren (Alice) and Viola Addison (Frank), and parents Harold and Ella Warren. Hazel will also be sadly missed by her treasured nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Hazel moved with her family to London and worked at Kellogg’s for 40 years. Haz had an infectious zest for life and was the life of the party – the last to leave the dance floor and the first to extend her loving kindness and baked goods to everyone around her. She was a world traveler, avid card player, lawn bowler, line dancer, and golfer, with three holes in one! Nothing was more important or gave her more pride and joy though than the love and devotion she had for her family. We say farewell to an extraordinary woman who made a difference in the lives of so many and who will live on in our hearts forever.
The family would like to thank the staff at Earls Court Village for their kind care and special friendships with Hazel. Heartfelt thanks as well to Celyn, Mara, Jeannette, and Sharmaine for embracing Hazel with love and compassion in her final weeks.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Hazel’s life will take place at a later date. In Hazel’s memory, please consider a donation to My Sisters’ Place in London, ON.
