It’s hard to find the right words to describe my cousin, but if I had to choose, selfless and sweet come to mind immediately. She was truly one of a kind, one of the most thoughtful people I have ever known. She had a quiet way of always putting others first, making everyone around her feel seen and loved. One of my favorite memories is from a summer we spent together when I was in college and Elisha was eleven years old. I have fond memories of taking Elisha and Heather to Chapters once a week where we browsed books for hours, followed by a stop at Cinnabon. The summer I lived with them is one I will always cherish, full of laughter, love, and the warmth. Over the past two years, Elisha became a friend and source of support to my 12-year-old son, Jack, who has been dealing with ongoing medical issues. Despite her own challenges, Elisha always found time to connect with Jack, and they shared a unique bond through their experiences. They would send each other thoughtful little presents, lifting each other’s spirits in moments when it was needed most. Even in her final weeks, with so much on her plate, Elisha still made time to send Jack a gift in the mail. That act of kindness, even when she was struggling herself, speaks volumes about who she was, selfless, compassionate, and always thinking of others. I’ll never ever forget her kindness, her generosity, and the way she made everyone feel like they mattered. Her spirit was gentle but strong, and I feel so grateful to have had her in my life. To Aunt Lenora, Uncle Cluney, and my dear cousin Heather, my heart goes out to you. I can’t imagine the depth of your loss, but I want you to know that we are thinking of you every day and sending you love and strength. Elisha’s kindness and spirit touched so many lives, and I know her light will continue to shine through all of us who were lucky enough to know her. May you find strength in the love of family and comfort in the warm memories you shared.
