Donnie Scearce
June 4, 2023
Donald Lynn Scearce, fondly known as Donnie, passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2023, while traveling in Manchester, UK. He was 58 years old. Born on September 11, 1964, he is survived by his loving parents Sandra and Ronnie Scearce of Danville, Virginia, his devoted wife, soulmate, and best friend of 40 years, Beth (Owen) of Dorchester, Ontario, his brother Terry of St. Augustine, Florida, his sons Josh (Leonard) of Toronto, and Caleb (Kirsten) and grandsons Ethan and Noah of Dorchester, and many other family members whom he cherished. He is predeceased by his younger brother Chad.
Donnie dedicated his life to serving Jesus in missions leadership with Pioneers, beginning in 1989. He was a man of unyielding love, gentleness, and passion, with an infectious laugh and an exceptionally kind heart. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.

Sending love and care. Donnie spoke words of care and deep healing to me. Grateful for his life.
Donnie was such a good man, and I remember him fondly from CIU, working on the library staff and playing on the faculty-staff softball team. He will be greatly missed by many, I know. May his memory be a blessing always.
Are condolences to you all. Lots of great memories as Donnie Beth Josh and Caleb made Dorchester their home . Are children spent lots of time together in fun and in trouble. Are thoughts are with you all. Roger Christina Katelyn and Ryan
Donnie ‘s humble heart and quiet strength were a gift and a blessing to the North Park church family. Donnie had a gentle kindness and a steadfast faith. He was not a proud man, convinced of his authority and importance as lead pastor, but a humble man with a servant’s heart – who walked in the truth of the Great Commission by the strength of the Holy Spirit. I well remember his voice teaching on Matthew 11:28-30.
Beth, this is very shocking and sad news. Can’t think of anything that would lift your spirits. Thank God that death is not the end.

The best of the best of the best has left us. I remember Donnie as "The Kid" at Columbia Bible College and Seminary. He was an extraordinary athlete. I remember playing softball game with Donnie in a prison in Columbia, South Carolina to share The Gospel in that way, any way we could. Donnie and Beth were a dynamic couple who together could, would, and did change this world for the better by bringing God Himself here, there, and everywhere. I read Donnie's obituary and it is spot on. What a KIND Man of God! Beth, thank YOU for sharing your beloved Donnie with us. Those were special times. But we ain't seen nothing yet. Yet we will. And Donnie has just begun to see through a glass clearly. When we all get to heaven, I want to be on Donnie's team!!!! Love in Jesus, Brother Ed Germann
