Audrey Lois Barron Montgomery Knight
October 11, 1925 - July 7, 2022
Audrey Knight had a long and varied life. Born in Trenton, Ontario to William and Florence Barron with whom she lived until the Depression, she was adopted at age 3 and raised by Maud and Walter Montgomery of Wyevale, Ontario.
Audrey is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, William Ross Knight (1922 – 2005) and her sisters Vera Blair and Dorothy Simpson. She is survived by all her children, David Ross Montgomery Knight, Leslie Margaret Knight (Corbin Litto), Susan Elizabeth Cossey, Howard James Knight (Evelyn), Kevin Walter Knight (Beth), and Allan John Knight (Sandi); 17 grandchildren, Jessica, Jackie, Bryn (Michael Arsenault), Rhiannon Jones and Drew Cossey (Lisa), Rob Cossey and Mathew, Katie (Darrin Storrey), Bethany (Karl Winder), Michael (Julia) and Maggie Kelly (Matt Kelly), Leah, James, John, and Jamall, Hayatt (DJ Stanley) and Samarr ( Zach Shute); and 10 great grandchildren, Emmeline and Catherine Cossey, Caleb and Liam Storrey, Emma Winder, Theo Kelly, Declan Knight, Cooper and Amelia Stanley, and Sloane Knight-Shute, with 2 more on the way.
Eager to see the world, Audrey left the family farm to join the RAF Women’s Division as a Leading Aircraftwoman (LAW) and to contribute to WWII efforts in New Brunswick. After the war, she studied and worked as a Mothercraft Nurse in Toronto and attended business college. She married in 1949 moving to Maple, Concord and then London Ontario in 1966 where she settled with her family.
Mom took pride and care as a full-time mother and homemaker for almost 20 years. She was happy to see her 6 children grow up healthy and happy into their teens and into adulthood. She launched into the London scene by completing her highschool certificate part time; acting in amateur theater (London Little Theater: Harvey, Oliver, etc); and being a successful real estate agent and travel agent. And it did not stop there. Audrey worked into her 70’s as a member of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaire working at the RCMP and London International Airport and into her 80’s volunteered as a receptionist for the Victorian Order of Nursing.
Audrey came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in the 1970’s. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Wortley Baptist Church. While she was often found in the choir loft singing, her late husband Ross was in the sound booth mixing the sounds.
Mom enjoyed travel and with Ross enjoyed many trips and cruises around the world.
Thanks to the staff at Kensington Long Term Care who made her comfortable in her final years.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 27th at Knollwood Baptist Church, 800 Cheapside Street, London. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the celebration at 11 a.m.
Donations in Audrey’s name can be made to Shareword Global (formerly The Gideons) or to Victoria of Order Nurses (VON).

To Audrey’s family, Sincere sympathy to you all on your loss of Audrey. What a special lady she was! She and my Dad - Glen Marsh worked together at Hall Realty and I worked with Audrey at NAL Travel when I worked as a travel agent. She taught me a lot about the travel industry and about life. It was always a pleasure to bump into her over the years and have our catch-up chats. I know she’ll be missed but I’m also certain you all have wonderful memories to remember her and your Dad.
Susan and family; I am so sorry for the untimely loss of your dear Mum. I know often it's said that "You will see her in Glory, so don't grieve." That infuriates me. Of course we grieve for those we dearly love who go ahead of us to Glory. No longer can we call them, visit or write, but they have gone ahead. Please know that we (Dennis and I) are praying for comfort and peace for you during this time and as time goes forward. You will remember her suddenly, and finally you will smile as you replay some of the times you have shared. Your dear Mum must have been a wonderful woman to have a daughter such as you. Blessings, and hugs to you and your family.
I was so sad to hear you've lost your mom Susan. I lost my dad last year. Knowing him he's hanging out with St. Peter welcoming people into heaven. He will take care of your mom and show her around! Loving you Susan.
What a lady! I have so many wonderful memories of Audrey working together at R.I. Harris Travel and of course from our years at Wortley Baptist Church. She had an un-exhaustible love of life and seemingly bottomless pit of energy. Her smile and laughter will live on in my memories whenever I think of her. She has left a beautiful legacy to and in her family and while I share your sorrow at this time of earthly loss, I rejoice with you that she has run and finished the race God set before her and she is standing in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, once again singing her heart out in the heavenly choir. Won't it be a GREAT reunion one day when we too cross the finish line! I will keep you all in my prayers in the days and weeks ahead, that God will turn your sorrow into joy! May He wrap His loving arms around each one of you and you feel and sense His warm embrace. So thankful my path crossed with Audrey's all those years ago!

Sending the warmest of thoughts to all of you with the the loss of your mother, Audrey. My memories of her are more of a feeling and I always felt welcomed by her when ever I visited. Those feelings about those we've lost can often be comforting. I do wish that for all of you.
