Dave I considered you my best friend and will miss going out for lunch or just having a coffee with you. Over the years from playing chess, crokinole and darts. Goodbye my friend.
I’ll always remember the fun times at bowling and at our golf tournaments. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
So sad to hear of the passing of David. I first got to know David when he worked at Skee-Hi ( Cobble Hills). He had a Corvette , one of last ones with chrome bumpers. To Marg, we send our heartfelt condolences to you at this difficult time. God Bless you and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sympathies to you Gus in the loss of David. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
Gus and family. We are so sorry for your loss. It was such a shock to see the notice of Dave's passing on the Fanshawe Retiree emails. Dave was my long time lunch buddy when we worked at Fanshawe. We spent most lunch hours talking, playing chess, computer golf or other games together. We also spent thousands of coffee breaks together with a vast number of college colleagues talking about everything under the sun. Dave and I also had a friendship outside the College. We golfed together often including some college tournaments and the Student Union Make a Wish tournament. Crokinole and darts was a regular happening with Dave, Gary, Peter and myself. Then there was our involvement in Local 109 OPSEU which had us walking picket lines together, attending various meetings in Toronto and visits to Greektown for dinner and drinks while in Toronto. I remember one of the trips involving a NASCAR like taxi ride to the Loose Moose with Dave and I willing to pay the driver extra to go faster and pass cars. There were also annual Construction class for the students and staff trips to Skydome to watch the Blue Jays. One of those trips I recall a few of us ventured into areas of Skydome that were not open to non-workers while it was being completed. The hard hats and work boots were convincing enough to get us into these areas without anyone stopping or questioning us. I remember some of the guys were afraid to join us but the moxy that Dave and I possessed was enough to make it happen. Dave and I had not been in touch very much in the past few years as June and I moved to Alberta to be close to our grandkids. I am sure Dave was happy to see his beloved Detroit Lions making the playoffs this season and he will be cheering them on hopefully to the Super Bowl. Again we are sorry for your loss and we know he will be missed by all of us.
On behalf of the Fanshawe College Retirees’ Association our condolences are extended to David’s family and friends. He was a long-time employee at Fanshawe College.
Dave was a kind gentle soul ..The 4 of us started a Friendship at the Klondyke campground .. The 4 of us had good chats and Gus , you and Dave even stayed with us in Florida .. Great memories . Gus, you are in our thoughts and prayers. ✝️❤️

A fond farewell to a great friend whom I had gotten closer to over the past 5 years but had known for 20 years. He was there for me in so many ways in good times and bad. He got me back into playing golf after almost 50 years. We would often go out for breakfast or lunch almost every week. I’m sure going to miss him ! May he RIP. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gus as she goes through this difficult time.
