Deepest condolences for your loss. I’ll always remember Chief at Ed’s birthday party, cake fight between father and son, which ended when he gave Ed the keys to his birthday present; a brand new truck. The ‘gotcha’ smile on Chief’s face was priceless.

Every summer I would go spend a week at my Nana’s(Emilia Luis) and we would always go to Tia and Tio’s for at least 1 dinner/ lunch. Their house was a close walk and we would pass it on our walks, so we would stop in for tea every now and than as well. I visited through the year with my mother as well, but the summer visits were always a bit more special. Tio would have pig legs hanging in the backyard, Tia would have a special treat for dessert. I always felt more like a grand daughter than a grand niece and loved listening to everyone speaking Portuguese and pretending to understand it. As a kid, I thought Tio and Tia were their names.. while I’m Portuguese, my cousins and I called our Aunts and Uncles the English names vs. Portugese. I remember going to family functions and hearing people talk about (what I thought) was my Tio and Tia.. they were so popular! I’m sad to say I don’t remember the last time I saw Tio. As I got older and moved further way it became harder to make trips to London. When I did, I would always drive by their house on the way to my Nana’s looking to see if I could catch a glimpse of him or Tia outside. My deepest condolences to his family, I keep you all in my prayers. There will only ever be one Tio to me, I am thankful for the times I had with him.
