Robert George Cambridge

January 31, 2024

Robert George Cambridge (62)

With his short, but courageous battle with gastric cancer Rob peacefully passed with his wife, and loving family by his side, on January 31, 2024.

He is survived by his soulmate and best friend Mal. His sons Justin (Ryan Clark), Nathan (Amber Sickles), James (Diio), loved as granddaughters Thora and Avery. Dear brother of Peggy and Roger Milmine, Gary and Sue, Gay and Gene Spence, Mike and Liz, Karen and the late Brian Thornton, Paul and Di, and Donna Molloy. Predeceased by his loving parents Stu and Jean.

Proudly served 25 years as a Fire Control Systems Technician, In the Canadian Army within the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers. After retiring from the military, he accomplished 20 years at General Dynamics Land Systems Canada, as a turret technician as well as many other positions.

Rob worked hard to retire to Nine Mile Lake where he spent from a young age relishing and exploring the lake up until he passed. Rob enjoyed most being on the water, singing and playing with his guitar all while holding a cold glass of Pinot Grigo or sipping on some Bombu.  Rob was a social butterfly with his outgoing and strong-willed personality, who had many friends far and wide.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date by his family. As we remember Rob, raise your glass and have a toast and follow his favorite mottos. “Any day at the lake is better than a day in the city” and “Nothing new after two.”

Dear Mal, Justin, Nathan and all Rob's sisters, brothers and loved ones. Words can't express how heartbroken we are with the loss of such an awesome guy that we also knew as "Little Baby Bobby" in his early years! Along with everyone else, we will especially miss Rob's commanding presence and his music, at Nine Mile Lake. Happy Hours just won't be quite the same. May good memories eventually replace all our tears. Hugs to all his family.
