George Charles Gordon
September 2, 2022
In his 62nd year, George Gordon passed unexpectedly into the presence of his Lord and Saviour. George was a wise, strong, hardworking, and unfailingly kind man. He was warm, steadfast, and peaceable. He was first and foremost a passionate follower of Jesus Christ and lived his life in humble but firm faith, pressing on towards the upward call he felt from a young age. Second only to his faith, was the great joy George found in his family. He loved Nancy, his cherished wife of 39 years, as Christ loved the church. He devoted himself fully to being a wonderful father to his three sons, Thomas, Greg, and Curtis, raising them up to be men of strong faith and good character. He loved their wives, Chelsea, Janine, and Samantha as if they were his own, a trait learned from the great and limitless love he received from his parents-in-law, Tom and Edna Lewis. The true joy of George’s life were his five beloved and oftentimes spoiled grandchildren: Maeve, Emmett, Isla, Felicity, and Nixon. He was a treasured and beloved uncle to many, and his favourite place was anywhere his family was, with a cup of good black coffee in his hand. He was a committed and valued friend and colleague for over thirty years at Sterling Marking Products. George was predeceased by his father, and is survived by his mother. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and he will be dearly missed every day, with joyful anticipation of an eventual heavenly reunion.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Northview Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 1490 Highbury Avenue North, London, where George’s Life will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains at Pond Mills Cemetery.

I also had the honour of working with George for many years and I will miss seeing his smile. I wanted to share a memory from about ten years ago, George did a presentation to some of us and I have never forgotten it. His words started out with "I'm here to serve" and ended with those words, after humbly explaining all the amazing things he did at Sterling. Because of his knowledge and expertise, when George spoke, everyone listened. My condolences to all of George's family, and may they be comforted that George is in heaven with Jesus, looking after us all.
I had the pleasure of working with George for many years at Sterling Marking Products. There was many an early Sunday morning where I would have to phone him at home with some technical issue. I would feel so bad but he was always so patient and easy going. I shared a busride home with him a long time ago and we had the most pleasant conversation. He was a very kind man and I was sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family and his Sterling family who I know will miss him very much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. May God be your strength and comfort.

Deepest condolences for George's loss and my heartfelt sympathy to family and friends at this sad time. Words cannot express how saddened we are to learn of George's sudden loss. Never expected... My heart breaks for George's family because we went through the same not too long ago with my own George.. I miss you my dear George; emailing you in the morning about orders was a norm thing but now getting answers from someone else using your email address feels really weired. You used to tell me darn I can't hide when I used to come to your office with an issue.
May peace be with the entire Gordon Family during this sorrowful time. George will be missed.

Dearest Dad and Grandpa, We will forever be changed by both your life and your sudden absence in ours. We will strive to make you proud, and continue the Gordon legacy of faith you began. We love you, we love you, we love you.
I am grieved, with hope, by the sudden passing of George. I got to know George thru his sons, Greg and Tom, long before I actually met him. When he and his wife started attending Summerside Church this year, I was blessed to meet him in person. May the words of Psalm 46 bring a sense of peace and hope to all of his family in this season of loss.

When I was 17 I started working, with George as my manager. In him I found a dedicated and consummate professional who was unafraid to get his hands dirty and get the job done. More importantly, I saw someone who cared deeply for the people he led, who never failed to make time for them, and practiced a patience and measured calm that I have spent 20 years attempting to replicate. George was many things, most of which I did not know, but he was above all a good and honest man. I wish his family peace and beautiful memories.
